This course gives you hands-on skills and knowledge that empowers you to do a wide scope of undertakings in the painting and decorating industry. You will learn practical aptitudes, for example, preparing surfaces, applying paint by brushes, rollers and, spray guns, hanging wallpaper, and making highlight walls.

The qualification has core competency requirements covering common skills for the construction industry, as well as two specialist work areas. The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to the recognition of skills must be carried out in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all competency units to be provided in this context.

Before entering a construction site, it is necessary for the complementary general induction training programme specified by the National Code of Practice for Construct Work Induction Training (ASCC 2007), to complete the CPCCOHS1001A unit achievement.

This qualification provides a trade outcome for residential and commercial construction works in painting and decorating.
Occupational titles may include:
• Decorator
• Painter.

• 18 years old and above at the time of enrolment
• Pre-training review
• LLN test

For Qualification by RPL the candidate MUST provide the following required documents:
1. 100 points ID
2. Unique Student Identifier – USI number
3. Resume (Relevant Industry)
4. Reference Letter (Relevant Industry)
5. Payslip
6. Work site Photos & Videos evidences

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must demonstrate competency in:
