What is Certificate iii Engineering Fabrication?

Fabrication is the process of making components out of raw materials. Fabrication includes steel fabrication, forging, founding, structural metallic erection, electroplating, steel spinning, steel polishing, sheet metallic work, welding,  and using associated computer-controlled devices. Certification iii in engineering fabrication trade helps a person to be a fabrication tradesperson giving all the practical and industry-standard knowledge in boiler making, welding, or fabricating in industries such as mining or construction.

Certificates III in Engineering – Fabrication trade is a trainee program for trainees employed within the metal, engineering fabrication, production, or related industries with engineering fabrication paintings.

Future opportunities for career

It is a big industry and you may have a number of directions after learning through the certification program. This is a challenging industry as well. As technologies are being updated very frequently, work is being more smooth but a fabrication tradesperson must update himself with the changes to sustain in the competition. If anyone can take the risk, bear the cost and develop the updated systems, he must have a bright future as it is a highly profitable market.

You will get after completing the course:

  • A nationally recognized qualification at Certificate III level, certificate iii in boilermaker, certificate iii in fabrication, certificate iii in metal fabrication
  • A great knowledge about the foundation, and must needed skills to become a Mechanical Engineering tradesperson.
  • MEM40105 Certificate IV in Engineering

As per the Australian Government, the range of structural metal and welding trade workers is forecast to increase to 82,700 by 2023, with approximately 47,000 additional job openings over 5 years.

Career opportunities include:

  • Metal Fabrication Tradesperson
  • Boilermaker Welder
  • Sheet Metal Worker
  • ARC Welder
  • Engineering patternmaker
  • Blacksmith

  • MEM40119 Certificate IV in Engineering

How will I be assessed?

You may need to sit for written examinations or assignments, oral tests along with practical assessments in class to pursue your what you have learned, your skills, and knowledge. You must know about the assessment details before your assessments but no need to be worried as you can appeal for another assessment if required.

What will I study?

You will get to learn a lot of skills and fundamental things from the apprentice program such as welding standards and techniques, safe operating practices, structural steel fabrication and restoration, sheet-steel paintings, pipework, the usage of computer-managed equipment, and computer-aided drafting abilities the usage of AutoCAD.

There are a number of widespread core abilities to be completed. But the type of employment decides the capabilities which should be completed.

Things You are going to learn

You will be able to learn both theoretical and practical things throughout the course:

  • Technical drawing and geometric improvement,
  • Fabrication strategies along with forging and founding,
  • A range of welding and thermal cutting techniques,
  • Welding,
  • Balustrading and polishing,
  • Work, health and safety regulations
  • Codes of practice,
  • Communication and planning skills,

After completion you will be one step ahead in your career for having the excellence given below:

  • Trouble fixing translating designs into realistic consequences
  • Communique excellence to paintings as a part of a team and recognize engineering terminology
  • Mechanical flair to apply suitable equipment and calibrate the system

Entry requirements

The good thing is, you do need not any formal requirements for enrollment to the program. You just need to register yourself with a contract in an engineering apprenticeship program under an employer who is in metal, engineering, manufacturing, and related industries.
